Guys, have been looking around for some form of TVR price guide to keep me right on what they're worth. Looked in Parkers and Edmunds and they dont list TVR. Have been through the autotrader etc to try and guage an average price which is some what realastic, however the deviation from similarly described cars can be up to 5 grand. Anyone point me in the right direction here. Looking at a 2001 Speed Six with 7.5K on the clock, private sale. Worth??????

Cheers

Tvr prices are not listed in parkers etc as they are such a niche market.

The colour choice will have a considerable effect on price at times

I had the same sort of problem when I was looking. Started to build up my own list from prices I saw in the classifieds. I was looking for a 4.2 or 4.5 (so no speed 6 prices I'm afraid) but may give you some idea.

does the colour really have that much affect?? This may sound like a stupid question but what are the most popular sought after colours that demand the highest prices? Or whats the ones not to go for?
Cheers.

It's down to personal preference really. When bought new there are something daft like 20,000 colours you can choose from. You can have them make up specials too. You are relying on the colour taste of the original owner more than you would with an off the peg mass produced model.

I've been looking for a used one recently on the Pistonheads classifieds. If you go through those pages not many are exactly the same colour. Even colours with the same name can be different, I think there are three versions of Rosso Red.

The tough bit is finding the car you want with the history mileage and engine type and so on and yet still getting an exterior / interior colour combo that you like (can live with)

From my point of view most combos are ok, a few I really like (not saying which in case I tip my hand to the seller ). Then there are the ones where the cars only saving grace is that it is a Cerbera.

All IMHO of course

Boll**cks. Deep maroon with lush cream leather inside and alacanti maroon matching roof and side panels.

Don't know whether to drive it or lick it.

Sometimes do both.

Come on guys. If you are buying second hand then you cant be absolutely fussy re colours and specs.
If you do then you are going to buy a cr@p car. 'It is a nice colour and I paid a premium for it , shame it is a pile of pooh'.
I would go for almost any colour - blue, green, silver, purple, black etc - in fact any colour as long as not a red based colour. Then as long as it is an AJP and has air con then that is it for me.

Whats all this be mature, it don't matter what the colour is, AND then you go and slam red?
Maroon is a sort of red isn't it?

bbt11, You have issues.

Madeline's a lady she is. She needs warming up gently like all good Cerbies. At least 30mins of foreplay while she warms up before you can go any further.

Come on everyone knows what a red car symbolises. Maroon sends out similiar, but slightly more jazz funk, signals.

Boyz boyz boyz!!! We're getting off the subject here! Anyway Aston Martin Blue with Grey leather is the daddy! Now come on, use all that TVR grey matter up above and come up with a private sale price for the motor described at the start.
