Problem with DSC on E46 M3

Hello there!
Just got myself 2001 M3 and i cannot seem to turn dsc on or off. The light in the middle off dash stays on even if i hold button down for 3 or 5 seconds. Am i doing something wrong or is it broken,i do not have a manual so bit hit and miss.Any advice on this would be welcome.

The light on the dash display should be off when the DSC is on and vice versa. It should only take a press of the button to turn the DSC off (and therefore the light on the dash would be on). I can't remember if the M3 has an intermediate off and completely off setting for the DSC.

If you are pressing the button and nothing is changing then there would appear to be a problem with it. I'm sure someone will be along to advise on whether there is a way that the DSC can be "reset" or what the problem may be.

Might be worth resetting the car, that might cure it?

Disconnect and then reconnect the battery.
