Ok unbelievably i have managed to change my mind yet again about getting the 450D and i am getting a 40d. Period. But now the cheapest, Digital Rev is supposed to be good but can i get the cashback deal on the body from abroad and manage to get it quite cheap (450£!) or do i get it from over here to be safe.

Sorry to put you all through this.

I think the cashback deal is a canon UK thing. There would be a voucher in your box if its an import. 'least that's how it used to be with canon. Check t&c s on canons website.

ah right, cheers bud. Seems like it might get complicated!

  1. This promotion is open only to the following countries:
Andorra

Austria

Belgium

Channel Islands

Denmark

Finland

France

Germany

Greece

Ireland

Italy

Luxembourg

Netherlands

Norway

Portugal

San Marino

Spain

Sweden

Switzerland

United Kingdom

Czech Republic

Slovakia

Hungary

Poland

To be able to claim the cash back, the products must be purchased in one of these countries and you must be a consumer resident in an EEA country (i.e. the EU, Andorra, Channel Islands, Iceland, Norway, San Marino and Liechtenstein) or Switzerland The promotion is not valid to employees of Canon or members of their family, or to any Canon agents or dealers.

Just the EU then :]

If you have the barcode then i cant see how you couldnt claim it, Which makes you wonder if they have repackaged and claimed it back them selves?

It used to be a voucher in the box (when I bought my 300D many moons ago), which you could redeem for your £100. If it ain't got one it's probably a grey import.

I bought my 400D few months ago, You needed to send the barcode and fill a form out with your serial number, I assume canon UK will only give cash back on UK serial numbers, Either way seems strange a UK retailer would specifically say no cash back,

I bought my 50m f1.8 from kerso and will certainly use him in the future,

They're grey imports or when you get the box you'll find the barcode missing. Avoid.

Feel free to PM me for Ian's email address.

He's great value & I have had no problems with my order from him (I ordered my SB800, MB-D10, Sigma 10-20mm, 70-200 f2.8 & 2x teleconverter with him)

He's had a delay with the 10-20mm but I'm happy to hang on - the communication has been excellent.

I'll be spending via Ian againwink

another vote for Kerso, small delay on one item also but very good prices and everything exactly as promised!

I also will be shopping with him again once I have sold my present kit.

Plus a very competitive priceyes
If you're VAT registered the difference is fairly minimal however. Still, for those not VATted, he seems very good and replied to my own request very quickly.

Yes definitely. I got cashback on lenses from him, and when I enquired recently about a body it was definitely subject to the Canon cashback offer.
