Hmmmm. I'd suggest the following...

1. remove removable lining.
2. Clean it
3. Replace it.

Sorry, sorry...couldn't help it. I'm not sure. Machine wash on a low temp...what's the worst that can happen? Might think about doing mine now.

I was going to type something out, but a quick google saved me the trouble 'cos I found the advice I was about to givesmile

From http://www.xrv.org.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=1516...

Old towel in the bath, helmet upside down on towel (to protect finish and avoid it sliding around). Use shower to get lining wet. Apply baby shampoo to one area of the lining at a time, work it well in - I use my fingers but you could use a small brush, I guess. Once you've done the whole lining, rinse thoroughly with the shower, squeeze out any excess water, leave to drain right-way-up in the bath for an hour, then put somewhere AT ROOM TEMPERATURE to dry.

You could try the stuff horse riders use. Just spray it in there and let it dry out.

Stick it in the shower! If you don't use the helmet everyday and thus you have drying time, just get your shower running at luke warm, get the inside soaking, get some shampoo in there, open all the vents, get everything really soapy, then rinse REALLY thouroughly. Leave to drain out and then move somewhere warm to air dry properly. DO NOT leave on top of a storage heater or similar - I've seen top of the range Arai helmet destroyed this way. I washed my Arai and OGK helmets this way for years.
