can u explain how david mason would be faster with more money when.1 you are only permitted 4 new tyres a meeting, which david always has,2 testing is not permitted so there no advantage on track time,3 all mechanical parts are sealed by the factory.HOW WOULD MORE MONEY MAKE HIM FASTER?

Hi Weeksey..
By yellow pearl, do you mean me.......

I'll answer your question anyway if you don't mind (apologies if there is a yellow pearl!)
The gist of the point is,
If a driver has a sponsor (or sponsors) and enough money available to race for the season without financial worries, he/she does not have to drive carefully in order to avoid serious wear or damage to any part of the car.
A couple of examples are
DM is blisteringly fast off the line
Earlier in the season, DM had gear box problems and started carefully off the grid, losing places, to avoid damaging it further knowing the feature race was the next day.
(he actually ended up borrowing a gear box for the feature race from Lee on that occasion, a fact which he acknowledged on the podium!!)
On another occasion DM had to 'bodgeneer' his exhaust silencer, by opening it up, re welding the internals and stuffing it with wire wool purchased (pretty damn quick!!) from a local DIY store.!!!!
Some finance would have meant a new exhaust!!!!!
Only two examples....

Need I go on.....

This is all in my opinion of course...

I think the whole series could so with a higher profile to get more sponsors for all the drivers.....
I'm sure that several of the drivers have the same problems.
The Challenge is really exciting to watch, one of the best one make series there is (IMO).
The race at Thruxton on Saturday was superb (and I missed it

Well done Andy....good result .......further up the grid each time....

Edited to get my smilies right!!!!!

Hi Guys,
We are also short of money! As we were late in the day entering the TVR Tuscan Challange we have to find the cash race by race.
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3622972651
Hence the e-bay auction! Mark does not have a rich Dad like Robert Huff and he had to miss Thruxton because of being just short on the budget.
Thankfully Lee, David and Phil are not spoilt like most of those in the SEAT racing ***** I mean rivals!

We would all go balls out if we had unlimited budgets, but most of us in Tuscans don't, except the factory team, who can do what they like, which could explain a thing or two!!!
no: 29.......... limited budget
no: 5........... limited talent very limited budget
no: 6........... no talent, no budget
no: 7........... no budget, great driver.
no: 8........... no worries, owns the whole thing
no: 58.......... hopes to own it all one day
no: 2........... massive talent but potless
no: 10.......... passionate driver, works all
night, all weekend and still
drives like a demon
no: 38.......... Mega talent, sleeps all night
and most of the weekend, wakes
up and wins.
