Florida's a big place and you don't say where you're going. But if you're in/near Kissimmee then the Saturday Nite Cruise should not be missed.

Well I'm not the guy who suggested it but I have been more than enough times to offer you some advice!

If Mustangs, Cobras, Chargers, Chevys, pick ups and american muscle are your thing then Old Town Kissimee is the place for you! biggrin

It's lovely being able to walk around with a bunch of american petrolheads who love their cars and are only too happy to talk to you about the car.

One of my best memories of the place was when we saw an old couple (in their 80's) sat in an immaculate 1950s pick up and literally everyone was swarming over the car. Suddenly his Mrs pipes up with "Jed..! JED!!! Fire up the chevy!"

Anyway, he eventually realised what she was talking about so he fired the beast up and I swear that it shook the whole of Old Town! I don't know what he had done to it but it was apparently pushing over 600bhp and from the sound this thing was making I quite believed it.

This should give you an idea of what it is like: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rIhFhP_P4fU

There is a mod on these boards from the states and I just cannot for the life of me remember his handle. If I can remember I shall let you know as he has organised meets at Celebration (small town outside of Disney) and Winter Park (Affluent area about an hour from Disney).

If you want advice on other things to do around Orlando/Disney then drop me a mail.

Excellent info there matey!

So on Saturday Nights there is like a parade of Ol' Muscle through Ol' Kissimee? biggrin

Sounds excellent!

Do you know if there is anywhere I can find info of any Space Shuttle launches while we are there? I know that its not going to be in Kissimee but I think that it would be a spectacular thing to witness!

I have also been keeping an eye on Sebrings website because I am led to belive they have quite a good reputation for all sorts of motorsport such as drifting, which would also be pretty good to see!

Er... gal. wink

Can't add much more than a link to the cruise website. http://www.old-town.com/CarShows.html

Sadly I've not been as we usually go to the Keys rather than Orlando but it's very high on my "to do before I die" list.

I love Florida! I have been there a ridiculous amount of times now and I always have something to do! Last time we went we decided that it was time to hire a Shelby GT-H from Hertz so we drove everywhere making alot of noise and turning alot of heads but unforunately we never made it to the Saturday night cruise at old town frown.

I've gone to quiet a few parades in the last 12 years and I haven't been dissapointed yet! I should imagine the only thing that would turn them off would be a down poor of rain but lets hope that doesn't happen for you!

I haven't heard much of Sebrings to be honest but I shall have a read up! thumbup

If Nasa is your thing then definatly get yourself along to Cape Canaveral, it is outstanding! If you get the chance try and get yourself booked up for the 'Then and Now Tour' which will involve you visiting launch pads, control rooms, observation towers, taking you to see a V2 rocket, Apollo space crafts, etc...

Here is a schedule for up and coming launches from Canaveral. We were fortunate enough to be there whilst John Glenn blasted off into space which was pretty nice to see and we have been lucky enough to see a couple of night launches too (by pure chance may I add) and the sky literally lights up.

Had a look at that link, some good stuff but they haven't got any dates listed in July yet!

Something else that crossed my mind the other day was that I am planning on taking the laptop over but as they only have 120V coming through the socket as opposed to our 240V, do you know if there would be issues with it charging?

Thanks again!
