a3 3.2 flat spot

ive got a 53 reg a3 3.2, and im loving it!!! but, has anyone out there had problems with theirs?? its not a major flat spot, but is noticeable. its around the 4-5k rpm mark. how bigger a job would this be to sort?

Mine's an 04 and I can't say I've ever noticed any loss of power between 4-5k rpm.

Change the mass air flow sensor. It may be faulty even if it hasn't thrown an error code.

All VAG engines are prone to this, especially the 3.2 V6.

Also, you might want to check the ECU software map. The early R32s used to suffer from flat spots at 2800 rpm until VW wrote a fresh map called the 6463.

I'd do the mass sensor first though.

I would change the mass air flow sensor as these do go like Brisel said. I have a 2004 3.2 which has been remapped and it did not have a flat spot before or after.
