Battery on the Elise is starting to play up - got very hot on charge at the weekend and was spitting a bit of acid.
This morning the car wouldn't start - ignition lit up but car would not turn over. I am assuming that the battery has discharged to the extent that it won't turn the starter motor over.

QUestion is - is replacing the battery something that Kwik Fit/Halfords etc are competent to do?

Do it yourself, it's not that hard. Halfords won't do it (I'm pretty sure), KF probably will and should be fine to do it competently.

You need to open the front up, remove the washer bottle and bracket, remove the floppy plastic around the rad, undo terminals and swap it over. You need an 063 battery smile

Edit - this is for an S1, I see you have an S2 which may well be totally different!

Depending on what MY it's in the boot and easy enough to get to.
