Opinions on this Sport Racer
Discussion
I've been thinking about getting an Elise / Exige as a fun Sunday only car for a while now. Originally was going to go down the Exige S route, but as I will not do track days, and the roof doesn't come off easily think it will be an Elise.
After this weekends weather its focussed my attention on getting something sooner rather than later. There is a nice Sport Racer advertised on Auto Trader - what do people think re the price - seem fair?

Think the dealer has taken artistic licence with the description:
Navigation System - Looks like someone just fitted a TomTom
Exige Alloys - No, they're the standard alloys for a S/R
Power Assisted Steering - Not that I was aware off
Electric Mirrors - Doubtful, not as standard or an optional extra - never heard of any aftermarket conversion
Tinted Glass - Nope
I would have to agree with GhostDriver and say it's slightly overpriced, though market may pick up now the sunny weather is here!

Air con and LSD on an 11k Sportracer? I think £23k is pretty reasonable. They are very hard to find with both options and there were only 100 red ones made in total.
I bought a blue one recently and I'm thrilled to bits with it but I would have preferred one with air con as it allows you to use the hard top more often. But the Sportsracer is fabulous to drive. You really have to spend serious money to get anywhere near the smile these cars produce on a twisty road. All I would say is that the standard 111r might be marginally better for road only driving as it has more supple suspension. The Sportsracer set up is firmer - the benefits of which are more obvious on the track.

I imagine a few have sadly bitten the dust too by now. The 2nd hand values don't really reflect the rarity of these cars and they are more different (and better) to drive than a 111r than I imagined. I guess because you can spec up an Elise R to pretty much exactly the same. Still I love the '06 interior and non airbag wheel with the perforated leather and all that. Having driven the Elise SC, in my opinion, the Sportsracer is the pinnacle of Elise story so far.

Someone is taking proper liberties with that description - Sports seats? Adjustable seats? Look like standard seats to me, and only the drivers actually moves. Computer? Deffo no electric mirrors or power steering.
and dont forget 'leather seats'.head restraint? so HANS devices are now fitted? you strap them to your ears maybe?

Now here is a debate. If Scuffers guts the engine out of the car and changes it for a Hooonda engine is it still a Lotus Elise - I would argue not (No matter how good it is)
OK, I'll bite...what do you call a Lotus that Lotus have ripped the engine out of then?
or how about a Banks Lotus Europa?
considering that Chapman would use whatever engine he could lay his hands on, all this holier-than-thou about engine swaps really makes me laugh....
