Having sold my Noble at the end of last year the sunshine got the better of me and i went out and bought a "cheap" 2002 Elise at the weekend for collection on saturday :-)

Can't wait but in the meantime i'd be interested in any views or advice on "must have" upgrades or straight forward performance mods.

thanks
Andy

tyres, suspension, engine, wheels, re trim. You name it it's all available. Depends what you are after. probably worth having a search and narrowing it down a bit to enable the technicaly brillient on here (not me) to give you the necessary advice.

Check out seloc.org as well

Brake pads got to be a good starting point, followed by a decent exhaust (for the improved noise). Other than that you can spend as much or as little as you like. Induction, decent tyres, manifolds etc.

in no real order: braided hoses, decent pads, quick shifter, sports exhaust, induction kit, new tyres, nitrons/nice suspension, harnesses, HID lights

Depends what you're looking for from the car.
If its for a bit of fun on the road then some decent brake pads and braided hoses will give you more confidence in the brakes.
If you intend to track the car then start with the brakes as above, then the suspension: the adjustable Nitrons are great and then maybe some more power. Along the way a set of harnesses will help you feel more ate one with the car. Interiors can also be refreshed at reasonable cost.
A decent induction kit and sports exhaust will give you a nice sound but not a lot of extra grunt. For best results the some head work and spikier cams are in order. Check out DVAPower, Sabre Heads and PTP for tuning of the K series. You should be able to get about 160/170 bhp from the K using the standard plenum and without too much risk of the thing going bang!
For bits and bobs check out Eliseshop, Eliseparts and Hanger 111 amongst others. Its also worth having a look in over on Seloc as there is a wealth of knowledge to be found there.

Stating the obvious but depends on budget. If you're looking to 'upgrade' your S2 without spending stupid money then you could do the following:

Brakes:

Mintex 1144's or Pagid RS 4-2'd Pads
Fluid change
Braided lines.

Suspension:

Ohlins or Nitrons
+Full Geo

Tyres:

A048's or R888's
-although I would recommend you upgrading the rear toe links as the standard ones have been known to fail.

Engine:

Sky's the limit!!
Start with, induction, exhaust, head work, cams etc although you will need another ECU if you fully go down this route

Come winter, HIDs, the stock lights are very poor, even with up-rated standard bulbs in they aren't great.
