Holden GTS (Supercharged) - Value?
Discussion
Hi chaps,
I was hoping someone here could give me an idea of the value of my dads Holden GTS (Supercharged) as he wishes to sell it, due to lack of use.
The car is a 2002 model and has covered a shade under 35k miles.
All servicing has been carried out by Lindens (and, latterly, Rapid GB) including a new supercharger, not 2000 miles ago.
Car is in metallic black with standard charcoal leather. in excellent condition inside and out (rear seats have not even been sat in!)
The car will be serviced and rolling road'd (again, by Mark @ Rapid) prior to sale to give potential buyers some comfort.
Car will also be detailed, so looking factory fresh.
It is a great car in great nick - there's just so few of them about is hard to gauge values/best outlets for sales.
Any ideas/help would be gratefully received.
Many thanks,
Simon

Im going to guess £15k max, but thats just my guesstimate, Ive not looked at the current state of the market.
Sadly you fall into the max road tax bracket too.
Road tax on the car will be £210 a year due to the age of it. Is the car a U.K car or import? If imported will be protected from the potentially stupid tax rates that are being banded about.Sadly you fall into the max road tax bracket too.
Thanks for the responses guys.
We got the feeling the £12.5-£13.5k area was where we needed to be for a quick-ish sale, so the guesstimate of £15k reinforces that - thanks.
I'll check into the C02 rating tomorrow. The car was an official import, bought in by Rod at Genuine Import Vehicles and first registered as a UK car.

Just checked C02 section of V5 - is blank, meaning no stupid rating right? Potential sales point...
Car is now booked in with Rapid GB for an MOT, service and run on the rollers and a full detail being organised this week. Also had a new battery installed today.
On this basis, I'm thinking a £13k asking price is more than reasonable, right?

If the car is as described I think that would be an absolute bargain. I guess it depends how much and how quickly you want to sell it, but I'd try for £15k. At £13k it should sell easily though. Well, there are a couple about at the moment, so it needs to be well priced if it's going to move.
There is a MY2000 vehicle with a similar mechanical spec at £12.5k (albeit with 2.5x the mileage) and V8 HSv (again a MY 2000 vehicle, but with a superior mechanical/brake spec) at £16k, so I need to be somewhere in between for this one to be attractive.
The service, new 'charger, 12 months MOT and £200 detail (as well as a current Rolling Road print out) should make for an attractive package - I can't think of a much cheaper way to get over 500 horse power with so little expected cost over the next 12 months, so we'll have to see.
Thanks for the encouragement!

the one at 12,5k is unlikely to sell.... i'm fitting new shocks and clutch and driving it for another 100k miles ;-)There is a MY2000 vehicle with a similar mechanical spec at £12.5k (albeit with 2.5x the mileage) and V8 HSv (again a MY 2000 vehicle, but with a superior mechanical/brake spec) at £16k, so I need to be somewhere in between for this one to be attractive.

i cant find anything to replace it - i've come to the conclusion all new cars are rubbish and or too expensive!
good luck with the sale
