Further to my solenoid post, just got home to fit it only to find the boot shut (helpful family member no doubt) Its in the garage with the rof off and unlocked. I know the secret way to get the drivers door open but obviously this is not going to help without the solenoid, doing a wedding on thursdays so this is very urgent, any ideas?

in my Griff i had a permanent piece of string attached to the mechanism on the boot lock discreetly routed and hidden away in the boot, passed over the drivers wheelarch into the b post next to the drivers seat(behind the trim panel). On the odd occasion the solenoid refused to work i just pulled the end of the string and the boot opened. It was invaluable as the boot solenoid went awol a good few times especially trying to fill up in a petrol station !!
