Race Car Liveries
Discussion
Hey guys
just a quick question, can anyone recommend any companies that paint race cars, i know of the 2 obvious ones curbishley and SID but does anyone know of any other companies out there that could paint full size race cars....ie a funny car. also i know this is a dumb question because each car differs but does ayone know how much it costs? it would be cool if anyone out there could tell me what their car is and how much it cost to paint....i jus need a rough idea really so i can go back to my sponsors with a proper budget....ideally i want a paint scheme like melanie troxels star and stripes funnycarthis year, but with the union jack instead....although i think it could cost a bit!...unles it could be done in vinyl although im not sure if thats possible with sucha complex shame/ design...anyway any advice would eb really welcome

Our car was painted by a Scania truck dealer for £2000 lol.
I love Wacky Shack paint (who did Danny Cockerill's '57) but I know it's not the cheapest option. For a design like you mention I wouldn't be surprised if you had to budget £4000 (if it were a doorslammer anyway, it will no doubt be cheaper for a car a lot smaller)

LOL i spent an hour on he phone with chris earlier, yeh ive known him for years so hes the first person i called!...i think a base coat by a paint shop and then wrapped seems the way to go, like chris said anythng is possible if you havethe money, so i need to have a compromise between cash and a nice job done...lol thats where a good design like chris comes in....making somehtuing simple look awesome!
Thanks for the plug Dave!
Like I said to Adam on the phone... You can have almost anything you like if you are willing to pay for it but what we always do is design to the clients budget. We know what works in paint and what works in vinyl, what can be cut and what needs to be printed, what will wrap easily and what won't and how all the variables then affect the cost of the final scheme on the car/truck/trailer.
We have some great contacts in the UK, Sweden and the US (Vegas/LA) who have printed, cut, applied, or painted our designs, and who are our preferred option in transferring the design from the rendering to reality. And of course we are used to working with sponsors and working within their guidelines and graphics standards.
Just give us a call or drop us an email ( info@motorsportmarketingsolutions.com ) anytime and we're pretty sure to be able to put something together within your budget.

I can't believe that a normal everyday paintshop won't spray your car! I have/had this guy spray my circuit racer for about £300! He did the usual body repairs for road cars but he would do stuff for us now and again out of the ordinary, they did damage the car though and painted the sidewalls of tyres!
col thanks for teh advice guys, its a little way off yet, realisticly im looking at getttin the rolling car into the country in early 2009 and then finishing it of in this country ready for teh last couple of meetings in 09 and a full season in 2010 so i dont want to be too forward of myself and asking for quotes all over teh place and making it out as though its gona be done next week, but i want to get some idea so i can plan the finances!
