I'm looking for some help chaps. My front calipers need overhauling on my Griffith 400. The brakes are not original and I have no idea what they are from. They have vented discs with what look like oversize Girling 16P calipers with a distance piece in. Pads are MGC/Lotus Cortina. Any suggestions on what they might be? They will have been built in the US. I heard some cars used early Granada (Tasmin??) brakes when racing.

I assume rear cylinders are TR4??

Thanks in advance

Richard

When you have dismantled the caliper from the back plate, Is it also evident that the mounting lugs on the caliper have been e-longated slightly to allow the caliper to fit the re-drilled TR6 backplate?

Also is your distance piece which splits the caliper halfs approx 11mm thick?

Hello Richard,
If they are 3-piston calipers, they sound like those used on the Miura, and a few other cars.
I have all the part numbers, pictures and a few spares left over from when I sold my Miura.
Where abouts are you ?
Regards,
Neil.
