X-Type Estate: Mud Flaps
Discussion
Having just got my new car (well it's an 04 plated job) I was wondered about some mud flaps
I know how much they are (£50) however the stealer wants £74 to fit them
So my questions are - does anyone have the mud flaps on their estate and do they look OK? And has anyone done a DIY job on the fitting? as having spent £12k on the car, a £74 saving sounds like a reasonable idea
cheers
Mike

Looking at the Jag site I found, I found the fitting instructions:
Front
and
Rear
Were the front ones difficult because you didn't have a right angled socket spanner (as they show in the PDF's)??? or are the instructions overly simplistic?
Thanks
Mike

Well they're on
Found a short screw driver, so placed the steering on full lock and did one front flap and then popped the sterring on opposite lock and did the other.
The rears required the removal of the wheels, but I at least appreciate how the security locking wheel nuts work (1st car with them you see) and managed to come to the conclusion that the jack that the X-Type comes with, isn't great
However the mud flaps do add a certain something to the look (possible becuase the car is black and has dark grey alloys)
Oh and I saved myself a few £££'s
which is alsways wewlcome after the initial expense of the car!
Now I have to hope that I did the wheel nuts up enough - felt tight to me, just need to wait for a wheel to go wondering past me
