Having been a passenger in one I can tell you it's verging on uncontrollably fast. Number 11's from 1st 2nd 3rd & 4th. I have been in many fast cars but nothing prepares you for the 5 ltr SC.

Have you 0-60'd her at all?

And 40-80 times(on your private test track of course)?

There's one noted in the TVR Register set up by Petrol Ted in General Stuff & Gossip. Try mailing the PHer who owns it. Maybe he has some pics of the engine - I know you all like that sort of sick stuff... biggrin

Richie 'mariner' who sometimes posts on here has the Chim 500SC, he happens to also have traction control too which I would imagine makes it a little more friendly hehe.
He's often away on his boat sailing around the nice parts of the world so he may not answer immediately if at all.

Would the T5 box be alright to use on a supercharged 5.0 RV8 anyway?
No, as I understand it the T5 box needs a replacement 5th gear making. The car also needs re-enforced engine mounts and modified diff mounts. A brake upgrade would also be sensible

Not yet "timed" either, but a recent comparison drive with a Porsche 996 Turbo showed extremely pleasing resultsbiggrin The 40 to 100 performance really is blisteringly fast. Last week end on a dry road with warm tyres i was getting wheel spin in 3rd yikes I'm getting on the rolling road next week, so will be extremely keen to see the results, which i will post up.

scratchchin 5.0 SC RV8 or 6.0 N/A LS2?

Would the T5 box be alright to use on a supercharged 5.0 RV8 anyway? Would there be problems with the halfshafts?

The term supercharged 5.0 RV8 covers a multitude of sins. It all depends on the spec as it it could have anything between 300+ to 500+ bhp.

It all depends on the power. Actually it is torque that breaks things. The T5 is Ok up to about 350 bhp. Beyond that it either becomes a consumable i.e be prepared for it to break at some point or it needs upgrading with a stronger box. I've had my T5 converted by CTS to take around 700lb/ft. Not cheap at £2000 but at least it has the same footprint so nothing else needs replacing. Well not really true... the clutch needs upgrading with more power. The half shafts may or may not be OK but upgraded parts are available should that happen.

The more you push the power envelope, the higher the risk of stuff breaking out or expensive items becoming consumables. Irrespective of how the increase is done, it becomes a bigger and expensive job to get the power reliable.

Clevor Trevor, about £175 for each side + the cost of new CV joints IIRC.
