Hi Guys,

Looking at getting an Exige S and have a few questions;

Does the roof come off the Exige, is it ok to drive it with it removed?
Is the performance pack worth the money or are there other ways to get another 20bhp? etc.

Cheers in advance.

Bought one three weeks ago and like you before I started driving it thought 'yeah 220bhp aint much what about 240 or even 280..' believe me when I say 220 is enough for me to be going on with and I like fast cars and fast bikes - the thing feels truly manic from 6 to 8. Not saying I won't be tempted after a few months, but right now don't need it.

I agree with mmartin, over 6k it is manic. Had mine for almost 6 months and only just got over 1k miles. Loved it before but the impracticality with 2 little kids was making me question whether to sell it. Now there is no way I will sell it this year, it is mind frazzling down B roads trying to grab a gear before the rev limit kicks in. It really is the dogs danglies!!!

Thanks for the replies.

I have read the posts about the hood removal, I was wondering if anyone had suffered a power loss due to the air not being directed quite so much into the intercooler.

Also, what's everyone's opinion on Air Conditioning, it seems a lot of 2nd hand Exige's have this, but for me it sort of goes against what the car is about, same for the electric windows?

The sport's and performance packs look good though.

How true it is, I don't know, but apparently the electric windows are actually lighter than the manual ones.

Aircon - Because it gets bloody warm in summer with only tiny windows to cool you down (even in slightly warm temperatures on the cold setting you'll get warm air, unless you've got aircon).
