Well Arden

German tuner messes with a Jag XF

Whether you like the design of the Jaguar XF or not, we can’t help thinking that this has ruined it somewhat.

It’s the Arden XF AJ21 and the German tuner has clearly been on a shopping spree to Halfords.

It has a new front end design with Porsche 997 Turbo/Audi S6 front LEDs, an enlarged radiator grill finished in stainless steel mesh, and oversized air vents for cooling of the engine and braking system.

We are even treated to a return of the skull-cracker Jaguar mascot on the bonnet.

Aerodynamic lift has been reduced at the front and handling is improved, claim Arden.

The back obviously wouldn't be complete with a de rigueur diffuser and rear spoiler.

The good news is there is more power – the top end is a 4.5-litre V8 from Arden’s previous AJ20 XKR.

The engine has a specially made crankshaft, along with new con rods and pistons to help achieve a 300cc increase in displacement over the standard motor and develops a peak output of 500hp.

The interior of the XF is perhaps its best feature so Arden has wasted no time messing around with it, adding new upholstery and carbon/wood inserts. Lovely.

Shut your eyes and imagine a barryed up executive saloon.

Not quite as bad as seeing your mother-in-law naked but close tongue out

I suppose you could still get them to install the engine without any of the body mods though.

I like it as well, it's hardly over the top, but this place is filled with cardigan and slipper types.

You should know by now that its a crime on here to like any car that has...dare I say it...a body kit!

Regardless of whether it actually looks good!

I like it.

I think it looks good, if a little too 'rapper' for my personal tastes but when compared to some of the 'tuned' stuff we have seen on here it is positively tasteful.

The standard car has a very bland look and submerges in to the traffic like any other German or japanese car of this class. Even not so very different externally as a top new model Mondeo.
It certainly has very little 'jaguarness' or indeed any sort of sports saloon look about it , so some restyling is welcome , as to whether this is a better look I think we would need to see more, bigger and better photographs. the triangular grille looks a bit more Seat or perhaps Lancia.

I think it looks excellent. Love the rear view in particular.

Still hate the headlamps though, and I've worked out why - they look like they're on upside down.

the only thinkg i dont like about it is the grill, looks too s type and doesnt fit with the lines of the rest of the car imo, if it was more rectangular i feel it wuld flow better and would look alot better front the front.

other than the grill ind i like it quite alot, but then again i liked the xf anywho

I actually think if the kit was toned down a little it would be quite good, but why oh why they put that stupid "mascot" on the bonnet I have no idea. It looks like a wart.

how can you say its spoiled the look somehow? the standard car looks awful, this looks pretty sporty and aggressive which is much better than ugly and poncy.

What's not to like? Though they look like renderings rather than photos to me....
