I know this has been done before as I have been looking through the old threads but I am interested to know what people think of the Toyo's and the Falkens as I seem to have whittled the choice down to these two or possibly Dunlop SP Sport Maxx?

Is it right the Falkens don't agree with the road response pack as I have just had this pack fitted and are the Toyo's that quick at wearing out?

Not quite sure what you mean about the road response pac? Falkens are just floppy, no sidewall strength. Wont change what the bushes do, just you won't feel the benefit as the tyre will just roll on the sidewalls. My advice, stick to the stock tyre. Havn't found anything else as good re sidewall strength.

My only disagreement with Roger is over the stock OEM tyres as I've had them now on 2 cars and both times they have performed terribly.

After running a spare set of continentals for the last few months my next new set will be these running the 245's at the rear - they have a much better ride and response to the standard ones and certainly quieter in my experience.

Point to note however, some people have 18's with bridgestones and some pirellis on the 19's. So in these tyre discussions, we are often not comparing apples with apples so to speak.

true I thought that after posting, my comment was with regards to the 18s not the 19s.

I swear by the Toyo T1R proxes (on 18's) but I agree the tyre wear isn't the best (especially if you're enthusiastic on cornering), however I cannot fault the grip!

F*ck*n' F*lk*ns
I narrowed down my choice to staying on the road instead of more F*lk*ns....
As roger says on high speed cornering its a bit of a case of flip a coin to see if you are going to go where you intend or where the falkens are going to take you(unnervingly)
Sorry forgot new etiquette! 18's on bridgestones now.

Falkens are a bit shit to be honest, ok on the front but not much grip in dry and and dangerous in the wet. They're ok when new but get a 50% worn pair and they're pants. Just moved mine to the front and replaced the rears with Goodyear Eagle F1s, these are much, much better.

My vote goes to Continental Sport Contacts. I've had them on several cars, including the Monaro, and always been very happy with them.

Roger is right, it's a proper car so give it the best tyre, Falkens are a pooooor mans choice.

Put it this way I have 2 245/35/19 Falkens new in the garage but I`m not going to sell to anyone here as they are a really poor tyre for the `ro`.

I think the op ref to the Monkfish RR pack was from me, when this all kicked off about the Falkens and some were still insistant that they were the best tyres ever I concluded that as the RR pack did make the car handle differently and took all the slack out then a poor tyre would feel even poorer IMO.

I like the PO`s even though the grip isn`t best its the best all rounder for my driving style and I get 10,000+ iles per rear set too.

Bauer and Millet in Manchester have, and they are on ebay (but not cheap enough for old stock imo)
My Falkens are a bit happier with 38psi in but I wouldn't recommend them to anyone. Hopefully they'll be bald soon.

I put 2 Pirelli's 18" on mine (rear) based on Je's recommendations.

If I am slow at the pod I know who to blame.......

Hmm, they come with Pirelli Rosso's maybe for a reason..... I have to say I've changed mine the Nero's (what the hell) and they do stick to the floor which after all is what they're supposed to do. The Nero's seem to wear a little better than the Rosso's (which is nice)
