The Music are a cracking band imo, and I far prefer to listen to stuff way before my time like zep, hendrix, floyd, stones etc.
Their eponymous debut album is well worth getting.

Probably somewhat shameful to admit it, but I saw them on Top of the Pops and bought the album (got plenty stick at work for buying an album off the back of seeing a band on TOTP!).

"Take the long road and walk it" is pretty good.

I like "the people" too

"Float" is another cracker off that album, but there are too many "floats" on youtube to find it sadly.
It would seem that st floats.

Aye, I've always liked the Music, they rocked without being too self-consciously cool like the Arctic Monkeys can be.

Getaway is my favourite track I think.

Ting Tings are good but I've only heard a couple of tracks.

How much does she look like a young Debbie Harry?

She's from Wigan mind so you wouldn't want her to actually speak.

Touring somewhere near you this summer!

As for Yuguy, I've got the 2nd album too "Welcome to the north", but it's not as good as the debut. Probs worth getting if you like the first album tho.

I enjoy The Music and have both albums, I think it would be worth going to see them.

I too really like The Ting Tings new track and I personally think that of the modern bands, The Enemy and Bloc Party are the best (both of which took me along time to realise I enjoyed their music).
Apart from that I don't really like many other "Radio 1" Top 40 bands so much that I would go and buy their album or see them on tour.

O/T I'm off to see Mark Knopfler tonight which I am very much looking forward to!

ETA: Just listened to MGMT - Time To Pretend, I think I need to listen to more of their stuff it's very good!

yesGreat band, they never really received the mainstream exposure that they deserved, but maybe that's why they stayed so good. My favourite tracks are Welcome to the North
Breakin'
Freedom Fighters (got me into them)
The People
and Bleed From Withinmusic

Just watched MGMT The Kids, sounds like a cross between the Cars and Visage, but I quite liked it.
