An Apology

You may be aware of a recent thread which started simply enough as a question about depth of field, but deteriorated into mess of offence and recrimination, between myself and Simpo Two.

Having taken time away to cool off, I returned to read the thread in it's entirety.

While I STILL read Simpo's posts as meaning the same as I originally read them, it is abundantly clear that no-one else is interpreting them as I did. This can only mean that the problem is in my head, and that Simpo is not at fault.

I suspect that I projected my own very negative mind-set onto Simpo's posts, and interpreted them in that way. I am also guilty of responding much too hastily, and too harshly.

To Simpo Two, I offer my apology.

To the Mods, please do what you will with the original thread - leave it as an example of blatant idiocy, modify it as Simpo wishes, or delete it inits entirety.

Less formally, Simpo, I'm sorry.

I never read the original thread so I'm not passing judgement in any way, but it takes a big man person to make a public apology, and I applaud you for it.

Wendy I read it and I dont think you are an idiot sometimes the tone a poster intends a message is not not how its read by the reader.

Simpo used the ! to claim humour here are a few examples:

simpo you are an idiot.
simpo you are an idiot!
simpo you are an idiot!

btw simpo you are not an idiot

If it's any consolation I can see why you would have got annoyed. Most people would just have dealt with it by using a rolling eyes emoticon though.

The PH Sinbin is a dark and lonely place. Nice apology though, fyi I think Simpo's comments (and mine too) in that thread were harmless suggestions, but the interweb can be very misleading.
