SMS Question...?
Discussion
My comfort zone is internet monetisation (in its many forms), but I'm now looking to branch out into mobile. There are two routes I'm looking to follow and just wondered if anyone here can offer me any advice, information or even a service to do the following:
1. Use existing content from my portfolio of websites in SMS alerts (so effectively news subscriptions - 25p/text)
2. Jump onto the text bandwagon - so offering baby names, horoscopes, dating/shag in local area etc - £1/text (and weekly subscription)

I'm not quite sure what you're after, but have a look at www.txtlocal.com - Darren is your man to speak to there. He can certainly provide the SMS infrastructure for you. I use them in work and they're very good.
Not sure if our solution is applicable on such small value transactions - however we have app that can either be portal or java based to enable transactions to take place without the MNO taking 50% of the revenue. Currently being deployed in the 'fast food' environment. This is a 'proper' micro payment engine for mobiles - thinking aloud, for what you want txt is the easiest I guess..
PM with details if you want to have a chat
