Does anyone have a standard S1 exhaust ???

Hey guys.

My sport 160 is silly loud now I have the loudest eliseparts exhaust fitted and a de-cat pipe. I love it, however its never going to pass on any trackdays so does anyone have the standard exhaust available thats cluttering up their garage? I based in Shropshire although distance isnt really an issue.

Obviously if its completely knackered and the baffle are shot then it will be a waste of time as the gases so if anyone took theirs off to upgrade, give me a shout.

Oly... if you dont get lucky, it would be worth getting the car tested.

I don't know how noisy your is.... but the worst I've had mine (not a 160 obviously) is 103db and its normally around 100db. Means Oulton, Cadwell, Silverstone, Coombe and Brands are all ok. Bedford and Goodwood obviously out tho.

Oh and thats with a 4-2-1, janspeed supersport, decat etc etc. Anyone who knows both our cars care to say which is the noisiest?

Try putting on a high flow sports cat instead of the de-cat pipe. You won't lose any power and it will reduce the noise

I've a Janspeed mild steel sports exhaust if that's any good to you. It's not loud, and is a bit lighter than OE. It's a little ratty with a some surface rust, but is sound and has been stored dry. I replaced it with a Larini for the noise!

Now I'm a little confused. Looks like the original thread's been locked and referred to the classifieds. (Fair enough I guess). Did you send me a mail? I've looked everywhere and can't find one, though I'm probably being dumb!

Anyway, does anyone want the old pipes? I'm in deepest darkest Sussex if that makes a difference to someone wanting to collect, though I could send it to Bristol FOC this weekend with a mate if that helps.

Can't help on the zorst Oly but be careful if you plan on doing Bedford any time again. One strike and you're out with regards noise now. I was black flagged for noise in February - fortunately it was at 4.00pm and I was doing silly rpm as I passed one of the meters - not allowed back on track though.
I've only got a Motobuild exhaust and K&N and don't think my car is particularly loud.

Cheers for the offer, if its still going and Chris doesnt want it then I'd be up for it. I have a sports cat too so combined with that probably be ok. Dont want to sell the eliseparts exhaust, sounds great just a bit loud for track. Got a tester so will go try it now.

Just had another thought BTW Oly..... have you looked at Gearys Silenced decat pipes... about 100 quid IIRC and could be just the ticket for TDs

I actually have one of them aswell so think I might play around with different arrangments on mine and see how loud it is. My dad has a sound level tester. I imagine the sports cat is quieter than the silenced de-cat though....

Well just tested mine and its 100 DB at 1 foot - a meter away from at the correct sort of angle. Think that might be ok.
