although the euro stuff is pretty manic, take a trip to Shelsley when the British Championship is there, 140mph and less than a foot of track either side!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wD0S9DvwB5w from 1m40s for the onboard..
toby moody "this is what a racing car should sound!" love it smile
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rJIhrv8aps0 because it is the best sounding racing engine ever...

Could see myself getting into Hill stuff as the cost of track driving is getting silly.

Also I could run an F3000 at much lower costs

Alas, UK hillclimbing isn't much of a patch on the continental stuff.

Closing public roads for motorsport? Whatever will they think of next.

My mates Mini at Etretat Hillclimb in France last August (click on his username to get in car footage of Prescott and shelsley)

It's well worth a trip over for the weekend, it's between Dieppe and LeHavre and has modern stuff running next to classic and vintage stuff.

ex circuit cars tend not to be competitive in the UK though, i am not sure what size fuel tank you could fit in a Gould but a GR55 would thrash a F3000 up a hill....call it fitness for purpose smile in fact one of the v6 DTM engined cars would give a F3000 a run for its money. the uk courses are too narrow unlike the european hills which are essentially closed public roads not private drives like the UK (or back in the day anyway!)

someone found an old Jordan F1 car and ran that for a few events in the UK a few years back (ending in a big off at shelsley) but it was too wid eeven in "narrow (monaco style) set up"

Yes good points./info, was thinking about just having the chance to run an F3000 car tbh without the 8k rebuilds needed for track racing every 2000km etc.

People stick the Holden V6 in he F3000 cars also, but I want a proper race engine and sound effects ;-).

Libra and Hill climbs are lagging in the UK for some reason, would like to see events match those EU offerings.
