Marketing Car Leasing
Discussion
I started up a car leasing brokerage about 3 months ago. I have been relying 100% on on-line marketing. Things are going OK and I am doing some business. The main problem I have found with on-line marketing is that pricing is extremely cut-throat resulting in very little cash being left in the deals.
I have had a double sided A4 leaflet printed which I have started delivering myself to some affluent residential areas in the evening. I think I have picked up 2 deals from this but for the amount of hours put in delivering the leaflets this is not great.
I was thinking of buying a database of local companies. I could then mailshot / FAX attack / email a flyer to them. Which method do you think will be most successful (mail/fax/email)? Does anyone have any recommendation's of companies selling these databases? Do you think this is likely to prove cost effective assuming I make ~£300 per deal.
I am open to any other marketing ideas.
Many thanks!

why not go and hit the bigger picture?
have you spoken to transport managers / decision makers in local industry? lots of companies out there lease 15+ cars, and this would obviously be a much better avenue for you than delivering leaflets for 4+ hours to get 2 deals. Speak to your local council about finding out the Top 100 employers in your area and just wander in and ask for an appointment.

Don't buy a database, do your own research (it's local, so you must know the area).
Join your local Business Link or Small Business Assoc and attend the odd Breakfast meeting - a bit of networking never hurts. Even ask to do a short presentation on benefits of Leasing/C. Hire etc - I have found that even Accountants really don't understand all the methods/benefits. Also people deal with people so it will raise your profile.
Contact local professions (Solicitors, Accountants with say 3/4 partners ) initially for their own cars and if you provide a good service you may get recommendations/intro's from them as well.
My preference for Mail shots (if at all) is small, targeted/researched campaign - specific to the industry you are contacting. Don't underestimate the amount of blanket mail that business's recieve these days and where it ends up.
Email and "fax attacks" in my experience rarely reach the correct person
