PS3 regionless

A guy at BB told me that the PS3 is regionless? Is this true?

Can I buy games and blu-rays from the US that will play on my UK PS3?

All PS3 games are region free yes. Films, most Blu Ray films these days are, but some aren't, good list is here:

A UK PS3 will only play region 2 DVDs though.
