Audi Planning More Powerful RS6?
Rumourmill: Audi looking to make limited edition RS6 with 610bhp
We were just thinking the 572bhp twin-turbo Audi RS6 could do with a bit more power, and then along comes a rumour that the company is planning to do just that.
According to AutoTelegraaf, Audi is planning a ‘Plus’ version of the already ridiculously powerful estate, which could appear towards the end of its life cycle.
Apparently the ‘Plus’ could go on sale sometime in 2011, just before the A6 gets a mild facelift.
The ‘Plus’ is said to be getting a boost to around 610bhp as well as tweaks to the suspension.
The previous generation RS6 did get a power boost just before it disappeared and was produced in limited units.
Discussion
What a beast - The M5 is v.impressive make no mistake but I'd take the Audi everytime - I drove the old V8 RS6 twin turbo several years ago (my mate working for Audi at the time had the dealer demonstrator for the weekend )It was an amazing machine with such useable power - on a wet road (and lets face it, in the UK they are wet more often than not!) it was totally untouchable - Great car - Great times!

570 > 610 bhp increase........................ WOW that is going to be really noticeable.
How about just reducing the weight?
Oh I forgot bragging rights at the golf club.
Only on this website could someone see a 610bhp super estate car as lardy or get into the geekish subject of "losing weight" - get a life - Its a 610bhp estate car!!! who cares about the friggin weight of the thing! - I think its insane and I think its superb - you need that BHP in your life - M5, RS6, E63 - they're all greatHow about just reducing the weight?
Oh I forgot bragging rights at the golf club.

Why not spend the R&D money on making a better chassis. The RS6 is not a great steer and does not handle well when being hustled along the lanes of the UK. It may well suit the German market but is useless in the USA and elsewhere!! One has to ask why....and who will buy one??
