Which 330?

The subject of depreciation is really bothering me at the moment as I ponder my next car purchase.

It seems to me that a 3 yr old 330 is a pretty sensible way of spending say £15k.

Sufficient fun to keep me entertained, refined enough for some big motorway runs, and sensible enough to haul the kids around occasionally and not get vandalised when parked at the station.

I'd want an M Sport Coupe with leather and toys. My heart says petrol manual....however my head says diesel auto. (Bear in mind that the family car is going to be a 520d Auto).

Anyone got a view as which is the best to go for and whether the 330 is a reasonably depreciation buster?

I don't think BMW released the M Sport version of the coupe until 2007, so it's going to be a fair bit more than £15k. Are you talking about the 330Ci (E46) with Club Sport Package?

M Sport was introduced for the Coupes towards the end of the E46's life. There is zero difference in specification between Sport and M Sport - BMW simply renamed the trim level.

Get the 330Ci - the 330Cd's are ridiculously expensive, still, and IMHO not worth it over a 330Ci.

When the M Sport name was introduced there was also a facelift - on a 330 it means the additon of a sixth gear.

Came in on the 53 plate afaik.
Although they were called 'sport' until 2005 when the 'M-sport' was used.
As already posted exactly the same thing.

Used to have a 330ci M-sport auto, 2005, did 50k miles in a year, averaged 27 mpg, horsed the c%&p out of it............ fantastic! Was out of the country for 18 months. Came back a couple of weeks ago. Looked for a similar well speced car, cheapest decent spec was 18k and was sold the day before i rung up to enquire. Have opted for a 330 saloon (E92 55 plate) and am equally impressed with it.

Both cars outstanding, cheap to maintain compared to the likes of Audi, merc, even ford. The auto box is excellent, the engines outstanding. Not much slower than an m3 under 100 mph
