Mot Failure, paper thin at the end facing the body, difficult to see and get to but looks beyond repair, searched forum and RT or ACT were suggested, still the same ?

N/S looks ok, but hate having things that dont match, any benefits from changing this at same time or is that just a waste of money

Might be worth replacing both at the same time. The near side manifold is quite straight forward to replace. If you have small hands then you are on to a winner!! I ended up buying a 14mm ratchet spanner to do the job as not all bolts were easily accessable with a socket and ratchet. The offside is a bit more involved as the starter motor gets in the way and clearance for the manifolds is a bit tighter on that side. Maybe easier to loosen the engine on its mounts to give you a bit more room. I replaced my n/s maifold 3 years ago and I know the o/s was replaced just before I got the 450 7 years ago. Both are mild steel manifolds from RT Racing. Next time one needs doing I will replace both with Stainless to match the rest of the exhaust.

Darren apologies, amended my profile. Take it that the manifolds are bespoke and thats why there £350 + vat each ,eek being a bean counter always looking to save a few quid, although not at the expense of quality or performance. Actually, as i write this, anywhere where i "saved" money has cost me a packet somewhere or other.

Any chance you could drop me a line with your cost saving info Darren? I've been patching up my manifolds for SOoo... many years I've forgotten what it sounds like to have all the glorious noise coming from the blunt end!

Apparently, it's not uncommon for the rearmost pipe on O/S header to be "dented" to provide clearance round the chassis tube that runs very close - Streaky

Any chance I can have you old one's if the flared bits that join the centre box are ok.

Thanks

Are they really?? Cripes, they were only £150 - £175 a pop not long ago.

Who is quoting £350???

At that price, it's worth having them plated to put off any corrosion as long as possible. I use an excellent high-temperature paint that lasts about a year of daily use (unlike the rubbish from Halfrauds) before it flakes off, which helps, too.
