Ls7 engine in ultima
Discussion
cross posted from engine forum....
Hi,
looking at putting the EFI engine into a home build kit car. As this engine is post 1993 i assume that it will need to pass a CAT test for SVA. Anybody with any views on the implications to do this.
I dont think this motor is supplied into UK with type approval?
Also does SVA include noise testing if so what are the requirements for either this or indeed any motor fitted.
The engine is GM 500bhp V8 all aluminum small block 7 liter dry sump EFI motor and 7000 rpm redline with a 24 month factory warranty. From the US 2006> Z06 corvette
(as if you lot wouldnt know anyways)
cheers

The factory didn't have an LSx option when I started my build. I sourced the engine from Jeff Schwartz. He put together a pretty comprehensive drop in Ultima package. I've left mine in stock trim, but that put's out a shade under 570BHP with the exhaust. Gearbox is G50/05. PM me for more details..
