Usually means brake warning.

Either your handbrake/parking brake is on, or brake pads have worn down, front or back.
I have a Subaru Impreza and it has the same warning light as many diffrent cars do, and it means the same thing.

What he said. Brake pads or fluid level (or handbrake stuck on)

Nope, not in a triangle, just an exclamation point with brackets. Don't think its the handbrake as thats a (P) on the dashboard but i may need new brakes. Old ones are wearing, i think i may only have a few hundred miles left in the ones i have. It is quite confusing as theres nowhere on the net i can find a solution to it!

I'm assuming that you don't have the owners manual then. On my MR2 (P) is parking brake on, (!) is brake pads low.

Check your bake fluid level and also check that the plug on the lid for the fluid reservoir is in good nick, connected properly etc.

Sometimes warning lights are caused by poor connections so check wires before you get to carried away!
