Welcome! And well done for picking arguably the best model (when standard). Useful brakes and power, AND a decent sized boot to boot! lol

Thanks for the welcome! Black in colour and now missing the two centre exhaust boxes...

Very nice. If you've been given the silencers, then I take it you have the 'loud' pipes on.

I love my Ro, but I wish I had held out for a Black VXR. I just think they look evil.

Those are the boxes that I chopped out and replaced with straight pipes. Nice and burbly now, but looks stock from the back!

Thanks for all the compliments. I overheard two passers-by today:- "I used to want one of them Calibras" !

since you have removed the two center boxes, what is the noise level like inside the car? will it drone? how much to weld it back up with new pipes.
I went to an exhaust center to see what it would cost to remove both reat boxes, one each side of 05 spec. With new chrome tips and a small section of pipe they wanted £150.00, with straight through silencers it was £350.00!!!
I might do somthing myself to check noise level first, I want the v8 sound but not too loud.
Enjoy your car future classic...

The noise level inside the car is still really quiet, but when accelerating, you can definately tell it's a V8. It sounded like a Dyson with the standard boxes in! There isn't any droning, even on a long run.

As for cost, I wouldn't have a clue as my mate and I did the mod in my garage. The original back box is retained, the only materials used were two short lengths of 2 1/4" stainless pipe left over from a previous project. The new bits were tack welded in-situ, then I dropped off the whole cat-back section and seam welded it all up. The hangers were cut off the old boxes and welded onto the new pipes. Only took about 5 hours, including a mad dash to get MIG wire after we ran out and about a gallon of tea.
