Hello, I am thinking of getting a GT 1.9 diesel as my next car. Opinions? What sort of mpg does one get and is the car reliable?

Thanks for your help, I really want one of these if I let the heart rule, but the head keeps asking sensible questions!

I am driving a GT Blackline just now as a courtesy car whilst my 147 GTA is in the garage. The Blackline looks beautiful.

I can't really comment on the reliability (as I have only had it for a short time), but it is a good drive and seems to get about 40ish mpg on a run and 35mpg in town (which is good).

However, for me it is slightly noisy at idle and that spoils the effect of the car a little. Be sure to also try the V6 version ; )

Very popular choice and some good offers on new ones at the minute - see the Blackline Edition. Seem to be reliable - plenty of 147/156/GTs out their with big miles on now. You'll see between high 30s and high 40s depending on the type of driving you do.

My missus has one.

It is such a great car. She had a few problems with it, but the support from Alfa Romeo UK was first rate.

I was so impressed that I bought my first Alfa, although I went to a different dealer.

Just got one, had the red dot racing remap done aswel.

It is awesome standard map lacks a bit of poke but once its done its great, get around 45mpg.

Few rattles but have been resolved.
