What's the most hair-raising mountain pass you've ever driven over?

I found the colle d'Esischie and the Fauniera pretty difficult late at night in the dark (no mobile signal!) - several times I needed to reverse in order to just get around a tight 180 degree hairpin!

there's one near we which is damn near impossible. it's called Succnant pass. my mate thought he'd be clever and drift round it in a Volvo he built into an FR car. Never saw it again. I'll try and get a picture posted

The stelvio is commonly rated the worst.

Personally, I don't like it.

Last time I was there it was July, sunglasses on,
into an unlit tunnel, massive great pot holes in the road.

Fun.

Timmeljoch be interesting. Snow in August sometimes.

Yes, the tunnels on Stelvio are dangerous - there's a tunnel on the Timmels Joch too!

Anyone driven the colle delle Finestre?

I read that the Passo di Gavia is not for the faint-hearted. Being faint-hearted though I haven't tried it. I think recent improvements (tunnels past the trickiest bits) have made it less daunting though.

yikes

Obviously there's that horrendous road in South America too with the wagons trying to squeeze past each other. Forget the name.

Bolivia's North Yungas Road (hmmmmmm indeed!) http://javimoya.com/blog/pics/200607/bolivia.htm

This looks a bit dodgey too. The Guoliang Tunnel in China. http://www.darkroastedblend.com/2006/12/dangerous-...

Apologies to the OP, but I haven't done either, nor am I going to!
