Well, after months of looking and umming and ahhing I've finally put a deposit down on an S2 Elise and I pick it up next week! bounce There were a number of factors that decided me:

1) Elises drive brilliantly, you can feel everything, even at low speeds the car is involving.
2) It looks lovely, there are 100k supercars that don't have the proportions of an elise
3) They're cheap to run (for what they are), they use a sensible amount of petrol and aren't too hard on consumables
4) The elise forum is nice and close to jap chat (thus saving wear and tear on my scroll wheel)
5) Watching my otherwise elegant girlfriend trying to get in and out of it!

The next week is going to go very very slowly bounce

Well done that man. thumbup

I'm now on my second Elise. Fantastic cars and as you get to know them better over time, they deliver even greater rewards.

I was actually physically sick due to excitement on the day of picking up each of mine!

What model of S2 are you getting out of interest?

It's a standard S2 120bhp. I did look at a 111s but I couldn't really stretch the budget. If I want outright performance then I'll give the 316 horses my scooby has a good run.

Not sure I want to tell you what dealer, not sure I can stand everyone telling me I've paid too much for it (you know how that feels )

Anyway, I got it from Chris Neil (same place I got my scooby from, they've been very good). It's gunmetal grey, 2002, with black hide interior, and 22000 miles on the clock. I paid a little less than the asking price but not much.

Awaits someone to tell me the car's been in a ditch....

Nice one!!

You seem to have bought a twin car to mine!! I only bought mine a few weeks ago, with similer milage, similer plate, same colour, similer spec (mines not got leather though).

Can only say it is absolutly fantastic, and you will not regret it!! Puts a smile on my face every time I get in it or even look at it!! (sad but true)

Nothing wrong with CNs IMHO, that's where mine came from, and several of hueandcry71's.

You wont hear that from me mate as CN have always seemed reasonably priced (for a dealership) to me.
One thing is for sure though if, and its probably a big IF, there is anything wrong with your car then CN probably offer the best customer service that i have come across from any dealership where i have bought a car (and there have been a few). The service team there are first class and Jeff is also spot on when it comes to sorting out any niggles.

I got my scooby from them and they have been very good, the servicing department has looked after my present scooby and my last one and I've got no complaints at all. Steve said they'd go through the car and carry out any work that needed doing, whether it's a new bulb or a new set of pads. Plus 12 months warranty, and peace of mind that there's somewhere less than an hour away that I can call with any problems.

As for the elegant girlfriend........ I'll post pictures of the car but anything more than that would lead to a long and painful abstinence. biggrin
