Saw him at NEC last Friday - great! Started slow, but he (and his excellent band) soon got warmed up, played a solid 2 hrs (approx), with no timewasting chat, "advertising" or intervals, just solid gold music, with a great mix of Dire Straits stuff and lots from various solo albums. Highly recommended, the man's up there with the other guitar geniuses.

I was there too and thought it was a very polished performance!
I thoroughly enjoyed it but I was a little disappointed in the lack of audience interaction which would have been the icing on the cake! Also, I was rather hoping that he would finish with Money for Nothing in the 2nd encore!
But all in all, it was an excellent performance and as has been mentioned, the rest of the band were terrific!

Yes I was hoping for a rip-roaring Money for Nothing as well. As regards the audience interaction, I think the age demographic was against it!

That includes me, by the way, my days of head banging in the aisles are behind me, I'm afraid!

Didn't know he was touring!

Some of us young dudes respect his work. He's an influence on my writing, defo, I reckon he is one of the finest contemporary songwriters (albums pre MFN being my preference.)

Glad the gig was awesome. 2hrs! Now thats cool.

Saw Dire Straits playing at the Fforde Green pub in Leeds once. He's come a long way.

There's a version of Brothers In Arms at the end of Ragpicker's Dream that is almost guaranteed to put me in tears after a few glasses of wine.

Saw him Saturday in Brighton, fantastic sound quality. Good mix of recent and DS songs.

It was Guy Fletcher's birthday, MK gave him a second hand guitar.

Off to see them again at the RAH tonight.
