Popped into CN at the weekend and fell in love with the Exige S they have in the showroom.

If you are in the market for an Exige S then I can happily say this is the best looking Exige I have seen. Gulf colours Sport Pack, Launch Control, Variable Traction Control, 240bhp. awesome.

Sorry the image quality is not so great but my camera phone is not that hot

hueandcry71 one for you perhaps as I know you were looking at an Exige S (go go go go buy buy buy buy)...................?

I hope you didn't buy the red Exige Swink I want to have a closer look at that next weekend. The Gulf looks great but a bit outside my budget

Having fist seen this scheme a few years ago and falling in love, I'm now not so sure.

Could you really live with it? I don't think I could.

I maybe think it's a bit gauche, especially as lotus dont really have much history with gulf (or do they!?).

That looks awesome.

I think if it was just a weekend car you could live with the colours but as an everyday runner would probably choose something else.

I dont like that, it looks like a tropical fish that i have just flushed down the toilet. The white circle is just asking for someone to draw a big smilie face on it.(would have put a smiling smilie after that comment but the bloody things arent working).
Im quite happy with my SR at the moment and have no plans to change this month.
What was you doing in there, you looking to change?

The Canyon Red one there is very nice although it doesnt have air con if that is a problem to you? The Lazer Blue one deos and IMO is much nicer, it is also awesome to drive.

edited to add ; just realised the Lazer Blue one is not on their website anymore so im assuming it has been sold.

Mate of mine's just bought the other Exige S (non-perofrmance pack) used car that was up for sale for a while - I saw it in the flesh for the first time last week.

It looks awesome, and everybody who knows what gulf colours are loves it. But you do get some "looks" out on the street, he says biggrin

But, they're using it for track days and track days, and some more trackdays. Bloody perfect biggrin

As you say if you know the history (and mine is only basic) you love Gulf colours.

I love the new Aston Martins and can not wait for Le Mans in a couple of weeks to see them in the flesh:

Have you heard of Ribby Hall (not to be confused with Ribby Valley Lotus) up our way?? Im off there today with the missus and the rugrats until Friday.
Not heard of it before. Is it a center parks style place?

yes but on a smaller scale, somewhere near Blackpool.

I've had my eye on that one for a while, as I am a sucker for Gulf colours (our Auto-Journals cars stickers were designed with a nod to those two colours), but something about the front orange stripe doesn't look quite right, it is too broad compared to "real" Gulf-liveried cars.

It could be offset by continuing the stripe across the lower part of the side and doors (which would be even less authentic) or by painting the wheels with orange centres, which would probably be my choice.

As for the white circle comment, easy, just put your favourite race numbers on there and put a stripe across them if the stupid rule about no race numbers is still in force.

I must say I much prefer the club racer look + stickers to the gulf coloured one for now.

(Edited for clarification.)

It has the performance pack and the sport pack. LSD is extra and don't know if it's on this one.

Lotus did a limited run of Club Racers about 6 months ago. All where that blue with black stripes.

Very tidy!!

Hi Marcus,

Now that you mention it, you are indeed right! I guess this may be another one of those colour schemes one has to see in the flesh to really appreciate. I'll still remain a bit skeptical, but look forward of course in seeing it in person one day. It does certainly make an already rare car (overhere!) even more special and unique, which isn't a bad thing.

I do think the gulf colour suits the Exige better than the Aston.

BTW: A shame you couldn't join us. Maybe next time?!
