Now who wants to bet he (the young dead driver) was slowly overtaking something heading towards ellesmere didn't finish before the end of the straight and the citroen hit him head on coming the other way.

No doubt we'll now see a speed camera along the streight, as they have their KSI numbers.

I doubt if he was overtaking. That would assume three cars involved, and there were only two in this case. I can't for one second imagine that the person being overtaken would have a) driven away or b) not sustained any damage.

There is the usual calls for traffic calming measures, but in this case it's villagers half a mile away from the crash scene that are calling for traffic calming in the village! And that would have prevented the accident how?
