Audi A3 TDi Clubsport
Audi unveils 221bhp oil-burning hot hatch concept
If you are getting sick of Audi banging on about hot diesels then it may be best to turn away now.
The firm has rolled out the Audi A3 TDi Clubsport quattro, a hot hatch concept that shows how much power could potentially be squeezed out of the 2.0 TDI lump.
The car is unlikely to go into production any time soon but Audi wants to show that a diesel hot hatch can be brisk – this car does 0-62mph in 6.6secs and 149mph, while peak torque is available from 1750rpm.
The diesel engine produces 221bhp and a hefty 332lb ft of torque.
There are 20” wheels, carbon-ceramic discs with six-piston callipers, and a six-speed manual gearbox.
As you would expect the car comes with four-wheel drive and has been developed by the quattro division.
The whole thing has been finished off with a lairy bodykit and Lambo LP560/4 style front spoiler.
Never thought I'd say that, but petrol prices are just a joke now. I'm finding it hard to justify buying something else that gets 20 odd mpg on a good run. Less than 20mpg on a spirited drive.
Looking at either a Golf/A3/Scirroco 2.0 170 TDI.
So having it with 221BHP would be far more appealing.

The numbers look wrong to me.
