Oi, Haymarket - get ya wallet and fix this site !!!!!

How pathetic is it that a large firm come along and take over the site we all love and then cannot work out how to fix the IT problems we have all put up with for the past few weeks.
No doubt we are now a very small cog in the large machine that is Haymarket and sufferring accordingly
The loss of good faith with the regular users here is clearly available to read......if only the forums worked properly or if someone from Haymarket actually read the through the site to see the level of problems being experienced
Just shows what happens if you take something that was working well (Cheers Ted
) and then let it get swamped in the IT black hole that is a large and obviously poorly run company.
Nice to see the revenue generators (adverts) keep popping up good as gold though

This is the crux of the matter.There are some software changes that need to occur to get everything running as it should, these are currently in process and should go live relatively soon.
This is not, repeat not, an issue caused by under investment, it is down to software bottlenecks that are a result of the collosal traffic increase.

If that is in response to Gangster66, he raises a very valid point. Many large and popular forums have gone belly up in similar circumstances. Yes even us hard of understanding can comprehend the issues, but it doesn't affect the fact that site visitor no's can plummet when there are technical issues that go on too long. I'd appreciate picture. I'm sure PH is not first or the last site to have massive traffic increase. Taking several months to resolve issues of what is glorified forum software ?! And constantly repeating mantra that its not because of lack of funds?If you really believe that, I have a bridge for sale...

The standard, balanced reply from a "techy"...... which is why us operations professionals give techies a few weeks to fix issues in my industry and then end up getting outside help in who actually deliver rather than mull about talking about a problem and how it might be addressed.The message that Ted posts is accurate and clear but, as clearly stated in several forums and many threads, the problem has been going on for quite a while now. I, like most regular users, appreciate the fact the site is offered free to us but remember it is paid for by the pop ups that appear on the site and the same form of commercial lines as other similar forums. The adverts on each page (when they load
) appear to be working fine but they won't have the impact expected by the subscribers if the site is abandoned by users in droves due to it's lack of functionality currently.Grey Ghost said:
