....now I just have to learn how to drive it properly!!

Took delivery of a white S2 Exige S from F1 in Newcastle on Saturday (Big thanks to Peter for all his help in getting the car ready when they were busy with the Lotus Roadshow week-end).

I've been trundling around the Durham / N. Yorks 'B' roads trying to get to grips with the cars dynamics etc. Early days yet but with each outing things are starting to click into place.
Still in the shake-down period so I have been taking it very gingerly with the loud pedal....except just the oncewink The Northallerton to Richmond back-road today, I was in a line a slowish moving traffic. (A lorry up front). As we approached Yafforth, there is a well known short cut that chops about 1/2 mile off the main route and re-joins the the road further on. (you can normally hoon down there and get ahead of everything in the line) To my surprise, all 4 cars in front of me turned left onto the short-cut, leaving only me behind the lorry. 'Sod-it' I thought; whipped round the lorry and gave it my best shot for the next 3 miles of twists and turns. To my delight, as I flashed past the junction that brings the short-cut back to the main road, I could see the first car screaming up to the junction - Result!! What a car!!! I'm in love. Totally different kettle of fish to my previous RS4 which was incredibly quick without really trying. This car needs to be worked....but that's the fun part.

I'll get some photo's up ASAP but the car is filthy and covered in flies (no time to clean it - just gotta drive it !!)

I'm in sunny Darlington. Not many Loti around here. One blue S2 Elise not far from me and that's about it.

I'll watch out for you - I need a list of decent roads around here driving

Craig!

Hi chaps,

I got my Blue S2 a month ago and i'm loving. I had the most amazing drive last night, see below. I'm based in Durham, and work in Aycliffe, but head inland on Sunny evenings. biggrin

Last night, I headed to Tow Law, thne wolsingham, Stanhope and then onto the mmors and headed towards deerwent reservoir. (signposted Edmundbyers/blanchland).

Get anywhere past Stanhope on the A689 and turn off anywhere to the right and you'll love it!! I didn't see another car for at least 20 minutes at one point! bounce

I take a map but never look at it, I got carried away last night and used 10 litres just belting round for an hour and a half! The missus thought i was in a hedge!

An awesome evening! and it's just the beginning of the summer!!!!!P.s. Croft on monday (bank holiday) with Book a Track. I'll be there.Excuse the cameraphone pictures! See you around!!! wavey

Superb biggrin

White ones are the best, you know hehe

It took me a while to get used to the Exige compared to my old Elise; they are just so so good.

Enjoy biggrin

Cheers Tony. Still getting used to the car but I find myself making excuses to drive it - wife just rolls hers eyes rolleyes

There is a funny squeak / chirping noise coming from the nearside dash where it meets the door as if something is rubbing. Must get that sorted. Otherwise it's rotate Still learning how to get into the car without raking a boot across the light switches!!

I tend to do that quite a lot, marking the light switches, but only when getting in and out in confined spaces (like the garage) - otherwise it's not too bad.

It's frankly epic, isn't it?! You never get bored of the speed.

When I first got mine I'd put my foot down in second and I'd think "christ that was fast, maybe it just caught me off guard and I wasn't expecting it or something".

So I'd do it again.

Nope, it really is that fast hehe
