Performance Car Vol 10 no 6 - June 1992 - cover story “Griffith: TVR takes on the world” -–This is the issue that had the Dark Satanic Thrills article. They tested the Griff 4.3 and the last word of the article was “Wow”

In the Performance file at the back of the mag they said-

S3 “traditional bugs-in-teeth British sports car”
Griff 4.0 “Britain’s brawniest sports car is back”
Griff4.3 “As above but brawnier”
400SE “As subtle and as entertaining as Blackpool prom”
450SE “The automotive equivalent of Arnold Schwarzenegger”
V8S “Exactly what a British sports car should be”
I pinched the above off another PH topic but love the descriptions
of the 2 Wedges and thought I should share with you

Cheers

How sad is this - remember reading the above said article on the Griff and remember REALLY studying the photos.. If you looked closely at one of the "overtaking" shots you could just make out a Wedge bonnet in the bottom of the pic (the camera car) and you could see its reflection in the Griff!! - sort of metallic green/blue colour I think.

My 400SE is not subtle I agree but I have never found it tedious and uninteresting. Of course being brought up in a seaside town may have informed what I consider the entertainment value of Blackpool prom to be.

Unless of course you are talking about walking the prom in a fierce onshore gale at high tide, that can be entertaining all right.

I took it to mean that there is something to entertain most people
