Anyone know whereabouts this is and whether public have any access? Would be nice to see those Group c beauties up close...

I don't think there is public access. The pit is located at the back of the main pit grandstand. In 2006 we snuck in through a gap in the fence but last year you had to have a pass to get entry. Real shame in my opinion.

You will need to have a pass to get entry to it. they used to sell them as an upgrade to the usual general entry but I am not sure if they do anymore.

There are ways and means to get in there if you are determined, it's not that hard, and usually security is quite lax other than on the Saturday.

I have got friends in there before now with only me having the right pass on the basis of a few polite words in Franglais with the man on the gate and a spare bottle of beer. That said it’s like everywhere else these days, things get tougher every year.

Agree with the Thursday or Friday approach - Saturday could be tricky.

I've never had a problem on account of Marshals have jolly good passes biggrin

As said it's behind the main grandstand - over the road from the ACO Club 24 building/first aid centre.

I've wandered around it a few times with no special pass (nor any form of ticket inspection).

You certainly did, it was V cool. If you look confident enough they often ignore you. Still as stated, things do seem to tighten up each year
