Hmmmm....I'm not sure how many parts the exhaust system is in, so please bare with me.

From the back of the car, I can see the tail pipes & the back section....follow them forward & they connect to another part of the exhaust..... I presume this is called the Middle section ? It starts towards the front of the rear wheels.

At this point, the two pipes of the middle section have a thin rod connecting them together, for no apparent reason. Anyhoo, the weld on one end of the thin rod is coming away & it's blowing at the join.

I've seen a nice looking Blue Flame exhaust on eBay, but it appears to be the rear section only.

I presume the rod can be welded back on my own exhaust or is it worth swapping it.

Any advice welcome smile

Sounds like linked de-cats? Is the 'rod' hollow or solid?

The bit your talking about should have a hole in the centre of it, this bolts to the underneath of the car and is used to support the exhaust. Any half decent garage should be able to simply weld it back together.

Not sure the cats are that far back. I've got bypass pipes in anyhow smile

It's a custom exhaust, so not sure if it's an OEM part or not but.....

Its that thin rod in the middle

I'd say just take it in and get it welded back up Russell - it looks like it's just a support for the exhaust.

Hi Russ

Why not see if you can find a standard backbox. You could always get it shot blasted/painted as I did if it's not in very good condition. Not only will the rear of the car look better IMO but Throne Road detours will become a thing of the past.

Regards
Simon

Booked in for 5pm Thursday Simon, at the place at the top of Hanover Road. While I'm waiting, I could be persuaded to have a drink in that boozer by the shops if you're around or the one at the top of Doulton Road.

Chaplins is the closest, but they haven't re opened it since the latest murder.... Strange that confused
