330co 03 radio doesn't always work

Hi,
I haved a 330ci 03 plate. The radio/cd has power as the time is displayed, the radio station or CD track number. However, only occasionally is there sound. Has anyone come accross this before and know of an easy fix? It's almost as if there is a mute button pressed.

Probably an internal problem but could also be a short on one of the speaker wires which earths out and sends the amp into shut down mode.

Get the headunit tested, if it tests OK then it's going to be wiring related.
