Accident at Clandon today?
Discussion
Can anyone tell me what on earth was going on on the junction just past Clandon this morning? It's where you would go left for Leatherhad, right to Guildford and straight on for Dorking!
It was total bedlam most of the morning.
I have unconfirmed reports from friends driving by that it was a multi vehicle pile up with a number of fatalities at the scene.
I hate that junction with a passion not least because the Lanbo bottoms out on the Clandon to Dorking stretch!
Thanks
Susie

From the BBC news website:
A 51-year-old man has died in a road crash near Guildford, Surrey.
Emergency teams were called to Clandon crossroads early on Tuesday, but the car driver, who has not been named, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Appealing for witnesses, police said the crash involved a Vauxhall Astra van and a Ford Fiesta.
The driver of the van was taken to Frimley Park Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Officer said the van was travelling out of Guildford, and the Fiesta was travelling towards Newlands Corner.
The road was closed for several hours while emergency services dealt with the collision.

Thank you!
Now why didn't I think to look on the BBC site!!!!!
It was really weird the roads they shut off even back as far as Send the road was closed!!! ? I suppose once on that Clandon road there isn't anywhere to turn round though.
Poor chap/s
