Do a search - but in short, yes they can be used properly and generally they are reliable (later cars seem to be better, older cars with all campaigns sorted should be fine).

Mine's not a daily driver, more of a weekend hooner, but it means that every mile is a hard mile.wink In 10,000 miles I've not had a single issue yet. biggrin

190,000 KM and running like a dream ...............

Yes its true our V8 has done 190,000 km and still runs like new, as far as we know the engine, transmission, drive chain and most other major components are all original, its had a fair amount of servicing sure, but you would never know its quite literally been around the world when you drive it.

Peramount, what about the dent?

16,000 miles of hard driving for mine and only a squeaky fanbelt (fixed under warranty) to report!

The dent was quite a dilemma

Was it motoring history or was it an unsightly dent, we came to the conclusion a dents a dent and hence its been fixed – looks like new now ………..

17,000 miles so far in 17 months, very reliable, only issue was a squeaky fan belt which was sorted under warranty. My garage HWM has said the cars that are driven daily are the ones they hardly see, while those kept more for weekend use seem to come in more often.

sounds like the TVR mentality - drive it daily and its reliable, dont use it and it goes wrong all the time...and of course the owners that keep them in the garage and do 3K a year in them are the biggest moanerswink

I've had quite a lot of problems with my two Vantages. The original one went back to the dealer 6 or 7 times. The main problem i had is the engine briefly cutting out and my being thrown forward on the seatbelt. This happened about 12 times on my first Vantage in all sorts of conditions. To be fair to the dealer and to Aston they put a lot of time and effort into sorting it - including loaning me a car. That had the same problem on two occasions. The car had numerous other problems including electric windows failing, sound system failing, gearbox problems, a leaky boot, air mass flow sensor issues and other bits and bobs. Eventually, they gave me another car on a very good p/ex basis as I threatened to take it back to Aston and to set fire to it in front of their offices!! The new car has also had the same cutting out problem on three occasions. Aston sent a chap up with a data-logger but it has yet to crap-out with the data logger fitted to it. Other than that it's a pretty good car.... If anybody else has come across this problem then pelase let me know as I (and Aston) are anxious to find out what the problem is.
