I'm after advice. I test drove a 1998 4.5 the other day, my first time in a Cerbera. I was smitten. One glitch was that the throttle cable did not seem to return very quickly. This made impossible to double clutch, I know it is not needed but I enjoy driving that way (ex-Caterham driver). Is this something that others have encountered and is there something that can be done before I buy the car, or is this the norm. The engine also popped back a lot more than I expected, is this a problem I should listen to?

Not sure about the second, but I had issues with the throttle on mine - check it out as if it gets worse and you find out about it at a clear roundabout off a slip road you're in for some sideways action (which really wakes you up after cruising up the motorway for a couple of hours!).

In my case it was a 'throttle return spring' which had decayed (not completely failed) so it wasn't picked up by me for a while.

Springs cost just about nothing and will make the throttle snap back quick sharp - I now have two on mine just to stop any future roundabout antics.

Hope this is he fix for you - very cheap.

All the Rover V8's Chimeras and griffs etc have double springs, not shure about the cerbera but worth having two for safety last thing you need is it going full bore when your just pottering along.
