I started my F430 a couple of days back and it was running rough with no power from low down.
I called the garage and they said to re-set the ECU/s by turning the isolator key under the hood off and leaving it for a minute and then switch it back on and try to start it again.
First of all 2008 model has no isolator key, so I have to get at the battery to remove the earth strap.
Then I start the car ... no problem it's back to its usual instant throttle response, pulls from low down etc.
Two hours later I go to start the car and its back to running rough.
I think the rough running is the "limp home" mode of the ecu but my garage (who now have the car) say they can't find a fault (though they do acknowledge it had a fault when it was picked up) with the car and all diagnostics check out OK.
does any one here know of any similar F430 problems or is this a "one off" ?

No warning lights, battery 100%.
when the fault was there it felt like the engine was vibrating badly.. as if it was "out of balance", no misfire etc.
As soon as the re-set procedure was carried out the car was quite normal!
I'm just keen to find out if this is an isolated case or not, I don't relish the thought of the car spending time in the workshop rather than on the road.

Fair point!...get it Europ Assisted to your nearest dealer, obviously FOC but 430's don't get repatriated by Europ Assist so you'd either have to collect from dealer or get it delivered back on dealers transporter.

Err, this is a bit weird I had already posted this earlier today but here goes again.
The car has already been into the workshop the problem I have is they can't find anything wrong with the car, all diagnostics are clear.
I couldn't fault Ferrari service they turned up with a de-mountable truck literally an hour after I called them.
The car is back with me and all is well.... for now.

We're a 'Europ Assister' and repatriations do sometimes come through (for F430s) although you are right this is very rare and I can only presume the dealer reaches an agreement to have the car returned.

What I meant was since the first post the car has been to the dealer and back (two day turn around).
I was just trying to find out if the problem was an isolated case while the car was in the workshop so that I was prepared for any B.S. they might come up with.
It seems that one other owner had a similar problem but it "went away" of it's own accord.
The dealer suggested that re-setting the adaptive mapping may quash the issue once and for all.
