I want to fit a set of these to my V8s. Given you guys seem to wear these more than most I hoping you can answer a couple of questionbs.

-What sizes do they come in and what size from TVR as standard?
-Are 17s a little big for Griffs?
-Are they front/back specific?
-Any funny tyre sizes that make expensive new rubber?

Thanks

ps anyone have a cheap set for sale w/tyres?

-TVR 7x15 front, 7.5x16 rear
-no, 17's look great
-yes
-believe a few are finding 15's more difficult to get in the correct speed rating.

Thanks,

Does anyone know if the BMW fitment will fit>

Also should I go for diferent sizes or would 17's all round be suitable, whats the disadvantage/benefit to having diferent size front/rear.

Thanks again

My guess is that the V8s has the same 108 PCD four stud fitting as the Griff. In fact My V8s had early Griff wheels fitted from new so must be the case. However the Griff had 15 x 7 on the front and 16 x 7.5 on the rear. I seem to think from memory that the S had the same size rims front and back. The other thing you need to check is the offset. This is the distance from the centre line of the rim and the surface that sits against the hub. The offset is usually stamped on the wheel and will be ET25 or the like. The Griff wheels have a different offset front and rear. If you have the wrong offset there may be some rather unpleasant scraping noises. Wouldn’t thing the BMW ones were 108 PCD which is a ford stud pattern.

personally I think they are over priced as the only people who would buy them would be S owners, and they are not that much in demand, unlike the 7 spoked oz's. If they were a mix of 16's and 15's in good nik/re-furbed budget £750 + and then some for tyres.

With regard to 17" Rims in this pattern, IMHO they would look wrong due to the lower profile tyre required to match the rolling radius.

Personally if you are looking for a good cheap (approx half the price of them 15" Oz's) change the Chim Imola wheels look good on the V8s... have a look at V8Smiths.

Have a look on www.imagewheels.co.uk these guys produce a couple of rims very similar to OZ cross spokes and can manufacture to your spec, price wise might work out a bit more expensive than used but they are brand new.
